Monday Motivation, do you find the start of a new week daunting? - Sometimes I get overwhelmed when Monday rolls around but other times I’m in the “come at me” mindset 🤷🏻‍♀️ What I find helps is to workout, have a good healthy breakfast, and try to be productive at work! - My workout was a full upper body day and boy was it difficult ☠️ I like to switch up my training and this was the perfect way to burn out all my upper body muscles. Give it a try 👏🏼 - Upper body workout: ✖️ TRX row ss bent-over DB rows 3x50 seconds ✖️ DB shoulder press ss DB farmer carries 3x50 seconds ✖️ Chest press ss incline pushups 3x50 seconds ✖️ Cable row ss leg raises 3x50 seconds ✖️ Tricep extensions ss side plank (L) 3x50 seconds ✖️ Bicep curls ss side plank (R) 3x50 seconds - Took me about 45 minutes but that’s all you need to get a sweat and great workout in! K E E P// it extra 🌶spicy🌶 on your next run {or walk} by sneaking in some bodyweight exercises! I absolutely lurveeeee mixing in a few movements between miles for a couple of reasons: 1. Running is HARD with a capitol H 🥵🥵 especially in this heat! So it’s the perfect excuse to stop for a bit and get your ish together w/o completely cooling down 2. You get a bang for your workout buck💥 Not only are you getting cardio, but you get some strength training in as well, it’s interval training at its finest! 3. You can be creative and try something new! I’m all about using park benches, ledges and stairs that I pass along the way 4. Most importantly, it switches your workout up and challenges your body. Maybe you even like it?!! Whether you’re just getting into the fitness groove or you’re a fitness pro it really doesn’t matter! What matters is you doing something that makes you feel strong, helps you shut your anxious brain off and move in a way your body will thank you for. “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”⁣ ⁣ -Winston Churchill⁣ ⁣ Today I whole heartedly wanted to give up on the boxing program I just started (day 5/30 ✔️) because I’m getting SOOO annoyed with myself when I continually mess up boxing comboinations, foot work, etc. ⁣ ⁣ Mid workout I looked at my bf and said “fu*k this, I don’t like this program & I don’t want to do it anymore”, but I pushed through the workout and inevitably advanced my boxing skills (let’s be honest, not by much lol). ⁣ ⁣ I just keep telling myself progression in skill (literally even 1% progress) is better than not trying something new out of fear or annoyance.⁣ ⁣ Have you guys heard of the 85% rule? Scientist have calculated that in order to learn a new skill most people fail 15% of the time and succeed 85% of the time. Knowing this made me feel much better! (Google it, it’s a real thing)⁣ ⁣ If you’re struggling to learn a new skill don’t give up on yourself. Take that 15% failure and turn it into a learning lesson to further your success!⁣ ⁣ Example:⁣ ⁣ •First boxing video feedback:⁣ -I was sticking my thumbs out ⁣ •Lesson taken:⁣ -Focusing on creating a closed fist⁣ ⁣ •Second boxing video feedback:⁣ -I was crossing my legs while shifting positions⁣ •Lesson taken:⁣ -Focus on widening my stance to avoid surf boarding/crossing.⁣ ⁣ ▫️YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS▫️⁣ ⁣ Check out my stories for some boxing clips 🥊 ⁣ ⁣ What’s one skill you’d like to take up? ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣

T H I N G S// I wish my younger self knew~ 1️⃣ It’s more than OKAY to be bigger than all your friends! Every body is beautiful in their own unique way 2️⃣Shorts are not your enemy, it just might take you a little while to find the right pair that won’t give you a camel toe or cut off your circulation 3️⃣Clothing sizes are straight bullsh*t, don’t pay them any mind 4️⃣Dress for YOUR body and no one else’s . . . . Being confident in your own body, no matter what your size or shape is, is HARD. It’s taken me longer than I would like to admit to truly appreciate my own body and to accept it in all its curvy, strong and soft glory. But, what’s gotten me to this place of acceptance is working on those 4️⃣ things that I listed above. Over the years I’ve come to realize that It’s ok to be bigger, it’s ok to have to go up a size {or more} to find the right fit and it’s ok to wear the things that YOU feel good in, not just to fit in #thephilasophy . . . We’re only on this Earth in this 1️⃣ body for a short amount of time. So why spend ANY time hating, forcing, restricting that 1️⃣ body into something its not? Release the pressure that you’re putting on yourself, LOVE on yourself and remind yourself how lucky you are to even have a body in the first place.
